Gold 1 oz – China Panda
The Shenzhen Guobao Mint in the People’s Republic of China began production of the gold Chinese Panda series in 1982. The coin has a purity of .999 fine gold and was the first limited edition bullion coin to be minted. The design on the coin changes each year, which enhances its popularity and has made it the first collectible bullion coin. For this reason and its limited mintage, Pandas tend to have a higher premium over the spot gold price compared to other types of bullion coins. Also available are fractional Pandas in 1/2, 1/4, 1/10th and 1/20th of an ounce sizes (minimum orders may apply for fractional coins).
