Gold 1 oz – Canadian Maple Leaf
The Royal Canadian Mint began producing the Maple Leaf in 1979, being the first country to make a pure gold coin containing no base metals. It was the first coin to ever reach a purity of .9999 fine, making it a popular choice in Indian and Asian countries where the purest gold is most desired. The coin bears the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and the symbol of Canada – The Maple Leaf – on the reverse. Also available are fractional Maple Leafs in 1/2, 1/4, and 1/10th of an ounce sizes (minimum orders may apply for fractional coins).
