Gold 1 oz – American Eagle
First introduced by the U.S. Mint in 1986, the 22-karat American Gold Eagle is the official bullion coin of the United States. The $50 gold coin contains one troy ounce of pure gold and a small amount of copper silver alloy to give it durability. The coins bear the image of an eagle and the figure of Liberty, similar to the design on the $20 St Gaudens’ gold piece. The coin’s weight and content are guaranteed by the United States government. Also available are fractional American Gold Eagles in 1/2, 1/4, and 1/10th of an ounce sizes (minimum orders may apply for fractional coins).
